CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

JORDAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL

The mission of Jordan Catholic School is to form students of strong moral character and deep faith, who through the development of their own individual gifts and abilities, will become lifelong learners, serve others, and participate in the life of the Church and the community.

At Jordan Catholic every child flourishes in an environment of academic challenge and spiritual growth. JCS challenges students to develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits to succeed. To that end, the entire JCS community is committed to helping each student discover, and realize, his or her potential. It is our goal to give all students the unique opportunity to be educated in a safe, structured, and Faith-based learning environment.

PLEASE NOTE:  To qualify for the  Father Bader Scholarship, you MUST first apply for the Spalding Scholarship through the Diocese of Peoria or the Alleman Tuition Assistance Fund.

The Father Edward Bader Memorial Scholarship Fund was established upon Fr. Bader's death in 1980. The purpose of the fund is to further Catholic education in Rock Island. It is desired that no child wishing to attend Catholic school should be unable to do so because of a lack of money. Applicants must be active members of St. Pius X Parish, be registered at Jordan or Alleman, and have already applied to the John Lancaster Spalding Fund and to the Jordan and/or Alleman tuition assistance fund.

Father Edward J. Bader served St. Pius X Parish from 1974, the year Jordan Catholic School was formed, until his death at age 54 in 1980. He is remembered as a dedicated pastor, spiritual leader, and educator. At the time of his death, a memorial was established in Fr. Bader's name to provide tuition assistance for the children of St. Pius X parishioners to attend Jordan Catholic School.

When making out a will or designating gifts or insurance beneficiaries, please keep in mind the future of our children's and grandchildren's Catholic education.
