Family Prayer for Vocations

Father, increase our family’s love for one another.
May we honor each other in times of happiness or hardship,
bearing with one another in love, just as You love us.

In a special way, help us strive for holiness in our current states of life.
Should You call some of us to the priesthood or religious life,
help us to respond with courage and joy.

Together, we make heaven our goal, and pledge,
with Your grace, to help each other on life’s journey to You.

Through the intercession of the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Roch, Patron Saint of Contagious Diseases

O Blessed Saint Roch, Patron of the sick,
Have pity on those who lie upon a bed of suffering.
Your power was so great when you were in this world,
That, by the sign of the Cross, many were healed of their diseases.

Now that you are in heaven, your power is not less.
Offer, then, to God our sighs and tears,
And obtain for us that health which we seek.

Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

(Pray the following three times:)

Saint Roch, pray for us, that we may be preserved from all diseases of body and soul.

Spiritual Communion Prayer

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

Glorious Pope of the Eucharist, St. Pius X,
you sought to restore all things in Christ.
Obtain for me a true love of Jesus
so that I may live only for him.
Help me to acquire a lively fervor
and a sincere will to strive for sanctity of life,
and that I may avail myself
of the riches of the Holy Eucharist in sacrifice and sacrament.
By your love for Mary, Mother and Queen of all,
inflame my heart with tender devotion to her.
Blessed model of the priesthood,
obtain for us holy, dedicated priests,
and increase vocations to the religious life.
Dispel confusion and hatred and anxiety,
and incline our hearts to peace and concord,
so that all nations will place themselves
under the sweet reign of Christ.
